Siân Leighton

Governor

I’m pleased to have recently been appointed (March 2021) as a Co-opted Governor of Lime Tree Academy. I am passionate about enabling and empowering children to reach their full potential and aspirations and from my  initial interactions with the school I have been very impressed with the staff and children and the  passion and enthusiasm they have shown. From my experience to date the school seems very progressive, nurturing and inclusive. Through my role I hope I can, in some small way, help the school to continue to provide excellence and build on its success.   I’m a senior leader at a Greater Manchester Housing Association and have over 20 years’ experience working in HR and Health, Safety & Wellbeing. Recently I have taken on a more strategic role including a focus on business planning, policy development, compliance, regulation, equality, diversity and inclusion and employee engagement. I am a trained Mental Health First Aider and a qualified workplace Mediator. I live in Sale and have two teenage sons and a cockerpoo, who I enjoy walking. I also enjoy keeping-fit, socialising and gardening.  I have previously been a parent governor at my sons’ primary school and secretary of their PTA.
