Our uniform is something that we are very proud of. It gives the children an identity, something that they can be proud of and makes them feel part of the Lime Tree Community. We have passionately high expectations and as such all our pupils are expected to wear full school uniform as listed below.
Uniform can be purchased in full from our suppliers, Petites Modes (based on Tatton Road, Sale). School ties and water bottles are also available to purchase via ParentPay and collected from the school office.
Termly Uniform Sale and Swaps are held alongside parent/carer coffee mornings. Dates and times will be communicated, via Parentmail, the school website events page and the parent/carer notice board in the school avenue.
We will happily accept donated uniform throughout the school year, to be made
available at our Autumn, Spring and Summer – Sale and Swaps. If you wish to swap uniform, please bring it with you on the day of the event.
Please can we ask the uniform is clean and in good used condition.
Local uniform buying and exchange schemes:
In addition to wearing full school uniform, we expect the following standards from our pupils in relation to dress:
Lime Tree Primary Academy’s Jewellery policy is in line with guidance set out in the Association for Physical Education – Safe Practice: in Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity – 2020 publication.
The Association for Physical Education (afPE) strongly recommends the practice of removing all personal effects at the commencement of every lesson to establish a safe working environment. This applies to all ear and body piercings, including retainer earrings.
Religious artefacts need to be removed or made safe. Health and safety law would usually take precedence over equality law because of the implication of the “safety of others” and the specific duty set out in the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. Case law relating to human rights legislation has established that a student does not have the right to manifest their belief at any time and place they choose at school, and includes the wearing of jewellery. Generally, to attempt to succeed in making a claim on the grounds of human rights, there would be a commonly acknowledged religious obligation on a follower to wear the jewellery. However, where the safety of others is compromised through the wearing of such an item, the claim is unlikely to be successful.

From September 2014 all pupils in Reception Classes, Year 1 and Year 2 became eligible for a free school meal as part of the Government Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme.
It is extremely important however that families with children eligible for a free school meal based on household income under the existing system continue to apply for this entitlement. This is because the pupil premium payment received by school of £1,455 per eligible pupil is calculated based on the number of pupils in receipt of a free school meal. The pupil premium forms a vital part of school funding and is spent directly on resources to benefit pupils. Please see the pupil premium page for further details on how this money has been spent in previous years.
The governing body and senior school management have therefore decided that, upon confirmation of a successful free school meals application, the following uniform will be issued free of charge for Reception Class and key Stage One pupils:
The mechanics of the scheme are that school will purchase the uniform on your behalf once you have brought in evidence of the free meal entitlement.
This entitlement will apply at any time that your child may become entitled to a free school meal during Reception Year or Key Stage One.
